Safety, rules & reporting

Hushloft is designed to be calm and low-risk from the start. Using Hushloft means you agree to these rules, and that you’re 13 or older.

• 13 and over

  Hushloft is for people aged 13 and over. If you're under 13, please don't create an account or join rooms. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, it may be removed.

• Rooms are quiet

  There is no video, voice or free-text chat anywhere. You see display names, avatars, focus status, preset study statuses and preset encouragement only.

• Hide, block or report anyone

  In a room, open People and choose ··· next to a name to block or report someone. Room owners can also remove people from their private rooms. Blocked people are hidden from you everywhere.

• Reports are private

  Reports go privately to the site owner for review. The person you report isn't told who reported them.

• No real names

  You only choose a display name and an animal avatar. Your email is used for sign-in and is never shown to other people.

• Protected access

  Private rooms, invite links and device codes all need the right code, and repeated wrong guesses are blocked. Reactions, reports and room creation are rate-limited.
